Attention to context
we periodically evaluate our sustainability strategy and the priority of topics based on their importance to our stakeholders. By doing so, we focus on and critically question our business decisions, which we subject not only to a profitability analysis, but also to analyses of their environmental and social impact.
Collaboration and dialogue:
we listen to our stakeholders and interact regularly with all of them by means of numerous activities and on many formal and informal occasions.
Sustainability Report as dialogue platform:
we take this Report very seriously and work hard to constantly improve it, because it is an essential tool for sharing our results, current activities, and areas of improvement.
The Golden Link for the precious metals industry
We do our best to fulfil our role as the Golden Link for the precious metals industry, and promote greater transparency along the upstream and downstream supply chain. This role can take many forms. For example, demand was exceptionally strong in 2021, and many less-reliable players appeared on the market to exploit the situation. As a result, we were even more careful with regard to our selection of partners. In a tangible sense, this means: strict rules, increased awareness of partners on the chain and, specifically, selection of operations that are economically advantageous and also especially attentive to sustainability.
70 years with our stakeholders
We celebrated our 70th year of operations in 2021. We are proud of who we are and of our role in the precious metals industry, but none of this would have been possible without the help of our stakeholders. Among the various initiatives to celebrate this anniversary, we have made a short film to tell our story, sharing it with all of our stakeholders in gratitude for these 70 years spent together.
A new website to tell who we are
We launched our new website argor-heraeus.com. A virtual platform that aims to tell the story of precious metal’s journey, from origin to final product, as as to describe the work we do every day, performed with passion and attention to detail, in close collaboration with clients and other stakeholders.
Our "sounding board": collaboration and dialogue for continuous improvement
A few years ago, we formed a "sounding board" composed of representatives of industry and academia, from whom we receive feedback on our efforts in all areas linked to sustainability. Areas of improvement can be very specific: for example, some of the improvements made to our Sustainability Report in recent years derive directly from our work with this board.
